Beth Nobles
Beth began her work in the outdoors as a high school student member of the Youth Conservation Corps in Illinois State Parks building trails and trail bridges in Pere' Marquette State Park along the Mississippi River, and at Volo Bog near the Wisconsin border.
As a nonprofit Executive Director, she led the Texas Mountain Trail for a decade, promoting the region's natural and historical assets, including state and national parks. There, she developed heritage hikes and bike routes, and through a partnership with Texas Parks and Wildlife, developed the Far West Texas Wildlife Trail and map. Before she retired in 2021, she led the Sand Creek Regional Greenway Partnership, supporting an urban trail along a riparian corridor in the Denver metro area, delivering environmental education programs and facilitating volunteer workdays.
She began the Nature Book Guide as a retirement project, inviting friends, colleagues and friends of friends—all naturalists, scientists, and stewards of our natural resources representing a variety of perspectives—to recommend great books for adult readers.
